#040. 5 Tips to make the most of Salesforce Connections

Hey Smart Marketers!

Connections is happening soon!

For those attending in-person, I’ll be glad to meet you there.

However, like any Salesforce event, attending in-person provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of knowledge, innovation, and networking.

There will be more than 270 sessions over 2 days. The event will be packed with industry experts, exciting ISV partners, swag…

If you want to truly make the most of your participation, a strategic and practical approach is essential.

That’s why I’m sharing 5 tips I use for each and every Salesforce event I’m attending.

#1 Plan Ahead and Set Goals

Before the event, take some time to review the agenda and identify sessions, workshops, and speakers that align with your interests and goals.

You can find all the sessions here.

Set specific objectives for what you want to achieve, such as learning about new Salesforce features, networking with industry professionals, or gaining insights into best practices.

Take a look at these Trail-Maps.

Planning ahead will help you make the most of your time and ensure you attend the sessions most valuable to you.

#2 Engage in Networking

Take advantage of this opportunity to network and build connections: reach out before the event to meet connections.

Strike up conversations with fellow attendees, speakers, and exhibitors during breaks, social events. Eliot Harper did a great job and you can find all networking side-events here.

Be open to exchanging ideas, asking questions, and sharing experiences. Just remember: you have a lot of exceptional folks you want to meet, optimize your time!

#3 Leave Time for Campground and Demo Areas

Allocate time to explore these areas to discover new tools, technologies, and companies that can benefit your business (either you’re a consultant, a brand or even a software vendor).

Engage in live demos, ask questions, and interact with exhibitors to gain deeper insights into how their offerings can address specific needs.

This hands-on experience can be invaluable when evaluating potential solutions.

#4 Attend Workshops and Training Sessions

In addition to keynote speeches and panels, Connections events typically offer workshops and training sessions.

These sessions provide opportunities for practical, hands-on learning. Identify workshops related to your areas of interest or areas where you want to enhance your skills. Participate actively, ask questions, and take advantage of the expertise shared by the facilitators.

The knowledge gained from these sessions can have a direct impact on your professional growth and improve your Salesforce capabilities.

#5 Engage on Social Media

Follow the event’s official social media account and engage with event-related hashtags (#CNX23).

Share your key takeaways, insights, and photos from the event on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram or TikTok.

Engage with other attendees and industry influencers, fostering conversations and expanding your network beyond the physical event.

Additionally, keep an eye out for live streams, virtual discussions, or event-related online communities that may extend your learning opportunities beyond the event itself.

I hope these tips help you make the most of #CNX23!

See you there if you’re attending!
