Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultants come in many shapes and faces…

In this issue, I wanted to describe some common types of SFMC consultants…

Let’s have some fun!

#1 The “Overexcited Trailblazer”

This type of consultant is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest features and enhancements in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Always asking for the next release notes, they also love getting new Trailhead badges and certifications.

They can wake up at 2 am to attend a webinar.

#2 The “Bare-Minimum” Consultant

This type of consultant is a big fan of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Package Manager, which allows them to easily install, configure, and manage pre-built packages. They’ll use it to quickly set up new clients with the bare minimum required to get started, and rely on pre-built templates and configurations to save time.

They might even disregard IP warming and other best practices in favor of quick and easy set-up.

#3 The “Personal Touch” Consultant

This type of consultant is all about building relationships with their clients and creating personalized configurations that meet their unique business requirements.

They’ll take the time to understand their clients’ needs and preferences, and craft customized solutions that exceed their expectations.

They send hand-written thank you notes or holiday cards to show their appreciation.

#4 The “Pun-tastic” Consultant

This type of consultant is a master of puns and wordplay, and loves incorporating them into their presentations and explanations.

They’ll use puns to make even the most technical topics more entertaining and engaging, and aren’t afraid to get a little cheesy.

They’ll usually be the ones proposing happy hours!

#5 The “Data-Obsessed” Consultant

This type of consultant is a data wizard who loves nothing more than digging into Marketing Cloud metrics and analytics.

They’ll use data-driven insights to optimize their clients’ campaigns and automations, and are constantly experimenting with new approaches to drive better results. They just love finding a new data point or uncovering a surprising trend in their analysis.

#6 The “Workflow Wizard”

This type of consultant is a master of Marketing Cloud workflows and automations. They love creating complex, multi-step workflows that automate everything from email sends to lead scoring and beyond. They’ll use their expertise to help their clients streamline their marketing processes and save time and resources.

They dream about workflow diagrams at night.

#7 The “Copywriting Crusader”

This type of consultant is a skilled writer and communicator who knows how to craft compelling, persuasive copy that drives action.

They’ll use their expertise to help their clients improve their email subject lines, body copy, and calls-to-action, and will even teach them the art of copywriting. They often get too excited about split-testing different variations of email copy to see which one performs best.

#8 The “Einstein Evangelist”

This type of consultant is a big believer in the power of AI and machine learning to improve marketing performance. They’re always looking for new ways to leverage Marketing Cloud’s AI-powered features, such as Einstein Engagement Scoring and Predictive Audiences, to optimize their clients’ campaigns and drive better results.

The way they talk about AI can sound a bit scary…

#9 The “Data Driven” Consultant

This type of consultant is a data-driven marketing expert who knows how to leverage data to create targeted and personalized campaigns. They’re masters of Contact Builder, SQL Queries and DESelect Segment, and use them to create precise segments and audience lists.

They’re always testing and iterating on their campaigns to improve results, and love to dig into analytics to understand how campaigns are performing.

#10 The “Design Guru”

This type of consultant is a creative expert who knows how to design beautiful, engaging emails that capture attention and drive action. They’re masters of Content Builder and know how to create emails that not only look great, but also perform well.

Litmus is their best friend.

#11 The “Strategy Savvy” Consultant

This type of consultant is a strategic thinker who knows how to create comprehensive marketing strategies that drive results.

They’re experts at creating multi-channel campaigns that are tailored to specific business objectives, and know how to tie those objectives to key performance metrics.

They’re always thinking about the big picture and how their work fits into their client’s overall marketing goals.

#12 The “Connector”

This type of consultant is a natural networker and relationship builder who knows how to bring people together to drive results. They’re experts at connecting the dots between different teams, departments, and technologies to create seamless workflows and integrations.

They also have a deep understanding of Marketing Cloud’s integration capabilities, and know how to leverage APIs and other tools to connect Marketing Cloud with other systems and data sources.

They’re always on the lookout for new opportunities to collaborate and share knowledge with others.
